Happy 4th of July! Today I played a course near my hometown with some friends that were back in town for the holiday. For mid-Michigan, it makes sense it's a mostly wooded course. But unusually for mid-Michigan, there are some areas with elevation change!
This course is located in a public, mixed-use park so be aware of other patrons. There are both 18- and 24-hole layouts. Holes A-F build it out to 24 holes, but they're not all together so if you're playing the 18-hole layout I'd absolutley recommend using UDisc to navigate around the A-F holes. There is one pond to be aware of....of course I found it but thankfully my disc didn't stray too far from the shore :)
Most holes, as I mentioned, are heavily wooded--think tight, narrow tunnel shots and some brutal rough if you don't hit the line. Most holes aren't too long, though. Bring those neutral and flippy putters and mids! I imagine it's a little more forgiving in the spring or late fall.
I'd definitely recommend the course if you're in the area, and we had a great afternoon! Our friends we met up with are starting to get into disc golf, and their daughter that joined is getting pretty good! Happy 4th, and until next time...get out and throw!
